By hiding behind a bush next to the infamous white pagoda, I was able to capture this great smile with the backdrop of family and friends. I guess the idea is to try to shoot the same things differently -makes for a better images and pushes you to be better all around... so I've heard!
Second for Jennifer + Joe
It is my most humble opinion that shooting at Reflections NW can get somewhat too systematic and seemingly uncreative. Having photographed 6 total events at this venue, it's easy to know what works and what dose not. However, being second shooter provides a little room for stress free experimentation so I tried a couple of different things for Jennifer and Joe's wedding.

Tierra
I've been working on a commercial project with Tierra Right of Way -it has been great getting to know the staff and working with Jennifer and Carolyn. I want to thank Diane for being such a legend of a stylist driving down from Phoenix for both shoots. We have one more shoot this Thursday which will be awesome! Above is proof image to be used on company website for careers opportunities with Tierra.

So this was an interesting moment -an important detail was overlooked...and immediately I could feel the tension building. In stressful moments like these, it's nice to be behind the lens.

When I look through a take from a wedding, there are always image that jump out at me. First time I've seen someone put money in-between their eyes -funny stuff! In the second image, Heather has an interesting facial expression on the dance floor -she is looking off as if concerned? Again, just one of those photos that make you think. Slide has been posted. I had never been to the Brophey Chapel before. I was instantly taken by the architecture. It's always nice to pause and take in the surroundings, particularly during ceremonies that take on a traditional approach.
Beautiful Scottsdale wedding at Brophey Chapel followed by reception at McCormick Golf Ranch. Link to slides will be posted soon.

As a photographer, one of the most meaningful moments during a wedding day, is observing the bride and groom after the ceremony. Couples beam with the rush and excitement of everything happening around them; they are often swept away by the atmosphere, left to entertain the poparatsy made of family and friends. But if you watch carefully, there is moment, when a bride will look at her groom, and say without words "we made it!"

I believe there are moments in this life when the divine breaches the natural and physical world by unassuming supernatural means. In other words, creationism, I don't believe is silent and left to its own devices. Call it prayer, inspiration, revelation, meditation... call it what you wish... I've come to understand that though the origin remains a mystery to most, there is definitely evidence that a greater good is at work.
I was very touched by the words of Molly during her exhortation. I was taken back by the depth and level of self-awareness; not to mention the conviction as she spoke about her heritage. It was very moving when she struggled to hold back the tears as she took the time to thank her family and relatives.
If there is meaningful truth beyond simple words, then I have walked away agreeing that the world needs more people like Molly.

I was doing a scout Sunday morning at 9:30AM for a client at their Jewish Temple -when I was approached by a gentleman by the name of Ron. He asked me if I would be available to shoot his wedding which was to start at 11:30AM. Posted are the images from my first Jewish wedding. Gallery requires a password which Ron will pass out to family, but slideshow is open to public.

This Coming Saturday (Feb 23rd) the Tucson FOX Theater will be hosting the anticipated screening of the independent film, Mary Shelley's THE LAST MAN, directed and produced by James Arnett & Gabriele Andres.
Jessica and I will be shooting this event and will post a link to online gallery here -should be a nice time.

Above: photo I posted on my site months ago... it remains one of my favorite still life images, and serves as a reminder to me that asking questions is OK!
In just about a week, I will begin my PX90 program -a lifestyle change with an extreme exercise schedule and diet regiment. I guess I'm telling all of you, because to some extent, I need accountability beyond my online PX90 support system -don't get me wrong, the systems is a well oiled machine. However, I simply want to share my progress through the next couple of months.
